New Shed

Here are some pictures of a new shed that I’ve built down in the lower garden. It’s tucked away behind the boat shed and will be the new home for the collection of lawn mowers, chain saws and other gardening equipment. I levelled out the ground then laid a base of shell gravel from the beach followed by some big, heavy concrete slabs. Some treated 4″ x 2″ timbers were then laid as bearers followed by a base frame also made from 4″ x 2″ timber.

The floor was made from 1/2″ plywood then the frame was assembled from 3″ x 2″ timbers. The cladding and door were made from 6″ x 3/4″ larch boards.

The roof was covered with dark green Coroline corrugated bituminous roofing sheets. The cladding was completed with 2″ strips of the larch cladding covering the joins between the vertical boards. The windows was added then the whole thing was given a coat of wood stain/preservative.
