Bluebells and Garlic in Senwick Woods

We had a walk through Senwick Woods near Kirkcudbright while the bluebells and wild garlic were putting on a show. Here’s Gabrielle on the path with the bluebells on the high ground and the garlic in the low areas around the stream.

Some areas were completely carpeted with wild garlic.

There were also a few anemones in bloom.

Kirk Windows

The “wee kirk” in Kirkandrews has some very interesting windows, glazed with hand-made glass when the kirk was built back in 1906.

There’s also an interesting little spy-hole in the door that looks out to the entrance gateway.

Yes, it’s rhubarb time again. Here are a rhubarb cobbler and a rhubarb crumble, fresh from the oven – yum! The big pan at the back is making rhubarb and ginger jam.
