Beltie and Bubbly

Just after we had installed the cattle grids, this year’s herd of cows and their calves arrived. The cows are Galloway cattle and one of them is a belted Galloway, or ‘beltie‘ as they are known locally. Here’s the beltie and some of the other cattle in the evening sunlight.
We’re still waiting for some real warm weather to arrive but we did have a good day recently that also coincided with the arrival of some new champagne glasses that we had ordered from the Internet. This seemed like a good excuse to get out onto the patio and try out the glasses. Here’s Gabrielle showing off her new purple Crocs shoes and enjoying the brief warm spell.

Helen & Stuart – May 2013

The weather remained chilly into May but stayed mainly dry so we managed to get out for a few walks and John & Stuart cycled over to Gatehouse of Fleet to sample a pint of Galloway Gold at the Masonic Arms. Gabrielle is demonstrating the latest Kirkandrews fashion for vertical hair in the windy conditions on top of Barn Heugh with Craig Cottage in the background, just to the left of the cairn.
