The roofing is finally complete and the rain gutters are being installed. The cement render on the outside of the extensions to the original cottage has been applied. The pace of building progress is increasing now that the building is fully weather-proof. The under-floor heating pipes are buried under a concrete screed so we can get a better feel for what the eventual floor height will be like. Most of the new build part of the house now has plaster board installed and the plasterers will be on site soon to apply the finishing coat.

Evening Sunshine

We arrived at the cottage on a Sunday evening with the low sunlight shining through some short, sharp rain showers.  The sun really brought out the colour of the cedar cladding and gave us an impressive rainbow as the showers moved off to the east. The exterior works should start soon and we will have paving and gravel around the house and a patio across most of the west side.
