Kirkcudbright Running Club

Kirkcudbright Running Club was founded just over two years ago but has gone from strength to strength. There are now over 100 members and a typical turn-out is around 40 or 50 runners at each of the training sessions. The club caters for runners of all abilities and meets twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings. In the winter months, most of the sessions are held in and around Kirkcudbright but when the longer evenings come around after Easter there are opportunities to run around some of the country roads and trails. The picture below is from one of the first country runs of the year, along the coast through Senwick Woods.

Wind & Trees

This is the effect of the prevailing winds on our coastal trees. Here is a hawthorn tree just coming into leaf as the gorse in the foreground is in full flower.

Here are a couple more trees right down by the coastal footpath near Knockbrex House.
